Rooms and hospitality were very good

Don't let "business" in the name fool you. The name promises a premium experience. The reception desk delivers the opposite.I booked two nights here for a company meetup — a new-to-me property, booked by a colleague, in a city where I usually stay at hotels I trust. I figured a "business" hotel would at least get the basics of hospitality right. I was wrong.I arrived around noon, ahead of the standard 2 PM check-in, with a meeting to get to. Fair enough — the room wasn't ready, and I wasn't entitled to one early. I've hit this situation before at other hotels, and staff have always been polite and apologetic about it. Here, the woman at reception could barely be bothered to look up. Clipped answers, visibly doing other things mid-conversation, zero acknowledgment that a paying customer was standing in front of her.That's the actual problem — not the room, the attitude. Basic courtesy isn't a bonus service. It's the job. A receptionist's core function is to make guests feel welcome, not like they're inconveniencing the staff by existing.I walked away, ate the cost of the two nights, and paid more for a last-minute room elsewhere. Worth every rupee to be treated like a person.To management: if your staff can't manage basic decency, train them — or replace them. There's no shortage of people who'd do this job well. I won't be back, and neither will my colleagues.To travelers near Trivandrum railway station: there are plenty of hotels on this stretch. Compare your options. This one might be cheaper, and maybe that's fine if you don't mind the DMV-office treatment — but if service matters to you, look elsewhere.

The rooms are very clean and come with air conditioning and water heaters, but they don't seem to justify the price; if they were cheaper, it would be completely worth it. The hotel's location is excellent, just a short walk from Thiruvananthapuram central railway station, and food services are offered on-site.

Nice
