The LaLiT Grand Palace Srinagar Hotel

There’s no denying that The Lalit Srinagar is one of the most beautiful properties you’ll ever visit. The setting, framed by majestic mountains and the serene Dal Lake, is truly breathtaking. The Chinar trees spread across the lawns lend an almost otherworldly charm - standing under them feels like stepping back in time.However, once you look beyond the beauty of the property, the experience itself falls far short of true luxury. At best, it feels like a four-star experience masquerading as a five-star one. The hygiene standards are disappointing - small things that you’d expect from a luxury hotel are simply overlooked. For instance, I left a glass in the gym one evening, and to my surprise, it was still in the exact same place the next day.The breakfast experience was the most underwhelming aspect of the stay. The spread was limited and uninspired, comparable to a three-star business hotel at best. When I asked for an eggs benedict, the kitchen staff clearly didn’t know how to make it, a surprising lapse for a hotel that positions itself in the luxury segment.It’s clear that while the property itself is extraordinary, it is not managed with the finesse or attention to detail that you’d find at an Oberoi or Taj property. The Lalit Srinagar simply lacks that polished, intuitive service and seamless experience that define true luxury hospitality.That said, the staff deserve praise- they are warm, genuinely friendly, and do their best within the systems in place. My feedback is in no way a reflection on them personally.Overall, The Lalit Srinagar is worth visiting for its location and architectural beauty, but it’s not a luxury stay in the truest sense. I’d consider returning only when the prices reflect the actual experience, that of a pleasant, scenic four-star property, rather than a five-star one.

I stayed at The LaLiT Grand Palace Srinagar for a few nights and overall had a very good experience. The location is spectacular: set against the Himalayan backdrop, with the gardens and the view of Dal??Lake, it’s exactly the kind of scenic getaway you hope for ’’

Food quality and options have deteriorated.

It’s an erstwhile Palace converted into a Hotel.The Lalit Grand Palace is a huge property with sprawling lawns .We were there for a conference .The rooms on ground floor were elegant and spacious . There was a sit out which further extends to the lawns .We had breakfast and lunch in the garden area which was quite refreshing.Food was good , service was courteous.It was a great stay .

I wanna point out something which I have never experienced being someone who works in Dubai and have travelled more than 10 countries.The respect and humility I experience and receive once I leave India, is gracious and modest.Then I come to think of it, why I felt discriminated or an outsider on my own beloved land when we Kashmiris are the most hospitable in nature, while I’ve met and worked w ppl of multiple nationalities.The whole point is the security management in Lalit are Indians and not Kashmiris. And they try their level best to make it miserable for us. (Because they do not respect their religion we follow or how beautiful we look).I had my lunch and paid and moved around to take a stroll on which the guard made multiple excuses on how not doing anything on the property was illicit.And three times, three guards were sent to me to convey the same message.And eventually I had to leave because I didn’t felt a speck of hostility or even welcomed and not just that the officer plotted against me to make me leave.Lastly, I see it as bias, prejudice and discrimination against a particular race (Kashmiris) on our own land. Never felt as an outsider on my own land but thanks to Lalit and the most pathetic and hostile service I have ever experienced and don’t even get me started on food quality.
