The stay at The LaLiT Grand Palace Srinagar was deeply disappointing and nowhere near the standard one would expect for a luxury hotelThe issues began from the moment we checked in. The minibar was inadequately stocked, containing only three beverages and no snacks whatsoever, despite being a premium property. More concerning was the fact that the television in our room did not function for two consecutive days. We raised the issue multiple times, yet it remained unresolved for the majority of our stay.The dining experience was equally frustrating. Service at the restaurant was consistently slow, with long waiting times and little attention from staff. Hygiene standards were particularly alarming. On multiple occasions, cut fruits and cheese were left exposed while flies hovered around them, which is completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one positioning itself as a luxury destination.Another disappointing aspect was the so-called "high tea" included in the package. In reality, it consisted only of tea and a few cookies. This is highly misleading and falls far below what guests would reasonably expect when a package advertises high tea as an included benefit. Luxury hotels typically offer a selection of savoury and sweet items as part of a high tea experience. Presenting tea and cookies alone as "high tea" feels disingenuous and is not reflective of the standards one would expect from a property of this category and price point.What made the experience worse was the attitude of several staff members, who came across as dismissive and impolite when concerns were raised. Requests and complaints were either ignored or inadequately addressed.For the amount charged, guests should be able to expect basic functionality, cleanliness, responsiveness, and professional service. Unfortunately, none of these minimum expectations were met during our stay.This experience was extremely disappointing and warrants attention from senior management. I would strongly urge the hotel to review its service standards, hygiene practices, maintenance processes, and customer service culture. As things stand, the value provided falls far short of the price being charged.

I booked a suite for 50k per night. Room no 2002. The bath tub, and toilet had stains and were not clean. There were broken pieces of glass scattered across the room, making it dangerous for me and my 1 hear old baby. The restaurant service at Chinar was pathetic. Had to wait for 1 and half hour for the order at dinner time. The waiter then informs that, the ordered food was not available. During the so called complementary high tea, which literally had nothing except tea and some cakes, and had asked the restaurant staff to deliver baby food to room, which never came. Moreover, the staff too was not aware where actually the high tea was being served. I would not recommend the hotel to any one. Had worst experience.

We stayed at The Lalit Srinagar with very high expectations because of its historical significance and reputation.While the location is excellent and the property has a beautiful setting, my overall experience was disappointing.The hotel is a former Maharaja’s palace, but unfortunately it does not appear to be maintained to the standards expected of a luxury property. The rooms feel dated, with old furniture, worn carpets, and beds that are not very comfortable. The mattresses especially need replacement, as they significantly affected the quality of sleep.For the price charged, I expected much better room quality and upkeep. Regular maintenance and refurbishment of the rooms and furnishings seem necessary.The staff were courteous, but there was little effort to highlight the rich history and heritage of the palace, which could have enhanced the guest experience.The food quality was average and did not stand out. Overall, while the location and heritage value are impressive, the hotel needs substantial improvements in room maintenance, comfort, and overall guest experience to justify its premium pricing.I hope the management invests in upgrading the property so that it can truly reflect the grandeur and legacy of this historic palace.

Great location with a flair of old world . Grounds nicely kept . Wide and expansive . Staff overall great . What marred my stay was that at that time there was some govt. delegation . Place v . crowded. I am ashamed to say the delegation public somewhat uncouth, loud , entitled lacking in general manners and behaviour . They behaved they owned the place . The dining areas exceptionally busy, crowded, loud . On top of it the Santoor playing was competing with the general noise . Took away the pleasure from dining Place is probably much nicer when less crowded .

Lalit gone for the dogsStayed at Lalit Srinagar while there were ministry conferences going on. Total chaos and sub standard service. All the staff was too occupied by the dignitaries that getting an omlette at the breakfast could not be done in a timely fashion. Security was complete hit and miss with checking done in full force at one time and no security at lobby the other time.The room we got was very very spacious and had great views of the garden.Housekeeping needs to improve with 3 door bells to keep things they should have before the guest arrives.The upkeep of the gardens could have been better with wilted flowers removed regularly, plants and hedges pruned well to gove the classy look. The leaves had to be picked too from the grass which was a miss.Chinar garden restaurant- the famous one was a big let down. You ask anything from simple salt and pepper and you get it minimum 10 minutes later. You rather finish off without that or eat cold food. We had pre-booked Kashmiri thali and on reaching the restaurant, they said it's not available.Breakfast was a big let down too with live counters not able to service, fruits not getting replenished, food going cold, taste just about palatable.All in all - a big NO NO to Lalit
