Attention Passengers! Here are the Important Guidelines for Special Trains

In a bid to tackle the COVID-19 situation in India, Indian Railways has made several changes for train passengers.

Here are the top points:

> For trains with pantry cars: Cooked food shall not be available in trains. Passengers will get only packed items, ready to eat, packaged drinking water and tea/coffee/beverages. This service will be available on limited trains and station catering units.

> For trains without pantry cars: No food will be provided to the passengers. One has to make their own arrangement for food and drinking water during rail travel.

> No blanket and linen shall be provided in the train.

Also, for the safety of passengers during festivals like Diwali and Chhath Puja, Indian Railways have recently issued 9 important guidelines, have a look:

The general public is instructed to observe the following rules at the railway stations, in the trains or other railway areas:

1. Not wearing a mask or wearing a mask improperly.

2. Not maintaining social distancing.

3. All passengers must download the Aarogya Setu app.

4. Linen, curtains, blankets will not be provided inside the trains. Railways has advised passengers to carry their own linen for the train journey.

5. For safety purposes, passengers are being encouraged to carry their own meals and drinking water.

6. Passengers have been advised to avoid carrying unnecessary baggage.

7. Observe social distancing during boarding and travel.

8. On arrival at their destination, passengers will have to adhere to all health protocols as prescribed by the destination state/UT.

9. At the stations, all passengers to:

a) be compulsorily screened and only asymptomatic passengers are allowed to enter/board the train.
b) be provided with hand sanitizers at entry and exit of station and coaches.
c) wear a face mask/cover at entry and during travel.

Violation to be punished:

Any negligent act or omission is likely to endanger the safety of any person travelling or being upon any railway and may be punished with imprisonment and/or fine under section 145,153 and 154 of Railway Act 1989.
