My stay at The Gagan Plaza was truly wonderful. The ambiance was welcoming, the hospitality was top-notch, and every detail was taken care of. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel at home.Mr. Anas (Manager) is very cooperative, presentable, and excellent at his work. My name is Ritesh Anand. I stayed at Hotel Gagan Plaza, Kanpur on 15 April 2026. This was my second stay at the hotel. During my first visit, the experience was average, but my second stay was extremely disappointing and unacceptable.I booked a Deluxe Room through the Agoda app, but the condition of the room was terrible. There were 2’3 large rats inside the room, running and jumping everywhere. While I was attending an office meeting on my laptop, one rat even jumped onto my laptop. This incident was shocking and very disturbing.I immediately informed the reception and requested a room change around 7 PM. However, despite multiple follow-ups until almost 10 PM, the staff did not respond properly. When I personally went to the reception to ask why no action had been taken, the staff behaved very rudely and said they were busy with other guests and that staying in the hotel was ’my problem.’After escalating the matter to the manager, they finally agreed to change my room. Unfortunately, the new room was also in terrible condition. The walls had seepage issues, the room had a foul smell, the washroom was dirty, the bedsheets and pillows were unhygienic, and even the TV was not working. They clearly told me these were the only rooms available.At that late hour, around 11:30 PM to 12:00 AM, it was extremely difficult for me to find another hotel, so I had no option but to stay there for the night. I also requested a refund due to the poor conditions and unhygienic environment, but the hotel staff rudely refused.The next morning, I spoke with the hotel owner and explained the entire situation. He assured me that the issue would be resolved, but it has now been almost one month and I have still not received any resolution, refund, or apology from the hotel management.I sincerely request everyone to avoid staying at this hotel. Hygiene and customer safety should always be a priority, but unfortunately, my experience at Hotel Gagan Plaza was extremely poor and unsafe.

The property is operational since 2007 and has undergone renovation twice since then. Strategically located and hardly 10 minutes from the railway station.The entry level rooms are too cramped and the lighting insude is no better then your candle light dinner. Rooms on the 4th floor are decent but tarriff for it is 3k+.They serve your order at lighting speed. Staff is humble and courteous. Lot of them are with the property since the beginning.Linen, washrooms are neat and clean. Food served is very tasty and doesn't give you any trouble post consumption. However, I found the food pricing on a little higher side. They have inhouse Bar, Laundry and ample parking space.I would definitely recommend this property

I give in total 5 stars because they check-in travellers/foreign tourists also in the night. (After 10 other hotels i went to this was the only one, thanks’?)The service is good and also the people behind the reception are very helpful. I forgot the name of the guy who helped me the most, he had an ’J as last letter of his name and is from Varanasi he told me. Thanks to him, i really appreciated your help!!!In general the rooms could be just a little bit cleaner, but it is already very good for India. Also it looks as the hotel takes measures and renovates it step by step. Seems like a nice indian wedding place, they had three of them while my stay.
