The location was somewhat convenient, but that was the only positive aspect. The cleanliness and facilities were severely lacking.

I’ve arrived at 3 am, had to walk between sleeping people in that abandoned building to get to the 2nd floor where is the « hotel » I slept in many budget hotel or adventure places in my life ! But when it’s about safety, it’s not ok anymore. And the building isn’t the only thing, the room is dirty, full of bugs, and mold, I had to stay 6 hours in my room waiting for the day to come and had bugs on me and biting me.. I feel sick since…Anyway, I really don’t want to ruin these people business but it’s a safety problem here.Don’t go please 🙏

I booked two rooms at Hotel Janata, Colaba—one family room for 2 adults and 2 children, and one single room for myself.The family room was manageable, but the single room was disappointing. The TV was not working, the room was not properly cleaned, there was dust and dirt under the bed, the blanket had visible stains, and the room had an unpleasant smell. The washroom had hot water, but it was not well maintained.The customer service was also poor. When I approached the reception for assistance, the staff member was busy writing in a logbook and asked me to wait until he finished instead of helping with the issue.Another disappointment was that the room did not match the photos shown online. The images appear to have been taken a long time ago and do not accurately reflect the current condition of the property. The building is quite old and seems to require renovation and better upkeep.While the location in Colaba is convenient, the overall condition, cleanliness, and service did not justify the price paid.My advice to other travelers: don't waste your money here.
