The Westin Mumbai Powai Lake

Today we visited The Westin Powai as students from Somaiya ITI (RAC trade) to gain practical exposure to industrial HVAC systems. Our intention was purely educational ’ to understand large-scale chiller plants, cooling towers, and centralized air-conditioning systems used in the hospitality industry.While we appreciate the opportunity to see the HVAC control areas and plant rooms, the overall experience was disappointing. There was unnecessary waiting, and the manner of communication made us feel overlooked rather than welcomed as learners.We were also told that we were not ’groomed,’ even though no prior guidelines or dress code instructions were shared with us before the visit. If certain professional standards were expected, they should have been communicated in advance. Students come to learn ’ not to be judged without context.Additionally, access was limited only to technical plant areas. We were not allowed to see guest rooms or other operational amenities where HVAC applications could have been better understood in real usage conditions. For an educational visit, a more structured and explanatory approach would have added significant value.A five-star hotel is known not only for infrastructure but also for hospitality and professionalism in behavior. ITI students may still be in the learning stage, but we come with high expectations from industry leaders. We hope this feedback is taken positively and future student visits are handled with better communication, guidance, and respect.

Poor to Average service, understaff and rough way of dealing as they are rushing and overloadedHad breakfast twice, no one came to even bother to ask coffee. No salt and pepper on table, no stirrers on tablePerson on the counter taking order was almost rude and took order as if he was doing a favourReastaurant was over crowded. Table offered was not even cleaned properlyReal test of class comes when you have capacity and are able to serveMaking good building is not enough.

Location - On the banks of Powai lake, in powai suburb of mumbaiWelcome - Wasnt greeted well as the staff was busy welcoming a wedding group.Deepa spotted us stranded and assisted us all through the check in process.Not only she made us comfortable but also offered us beverages on check inRooms - We were upgraded to a lake view room. The room was spacious and well equipped. Cherry on the top was the lake view.Restaurants - Westin powai has a tremendous f&b capabilities. The buffet was very nice, also all the inhouse restaurants were top notch. My favorite was mayouchi.Overall - A great stay in the city which felt like and oasis because of the wonderful food, service & views

I had a very pleasant stay at The Westin Mumbai Powai Lake while attending a conference. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well maintained, with beautiful views of Powai Lake. The lake view is definitely one of the best aspects of this property.The conference facilities were well organised and the overall service was professional and efficient. I visited Nox Rooftop Bar once during my stay, and it was a good experience. The rooftop ambience is lovely, and the panoramic lake view at night is particularly impressive.Overall, a good hotel with comfortable rooms, great views, and a pleasant atmosphere. I would happily stay here again.

We have stayed here many times. We love the hotel and are always made to feel welcome and at home.It’s relaxing to be by the lake and away from the hustle and bustle of Mumbai but still close enough to explore.The rooms are spacious and clean we even got an upgrade to a suite.Lake View cafe has an excellent breakfast with lots of international variety. Shailesh and his team really go out of their way and nothing is too much trouble. He is the main reason we return to the Westin. Buffet lunch is also good and again lots of choices. If something is not on the menu he will do his best to accommodate you.The Japanese restaurant is also superb for dinner and cocktails. Lots of choices and delicious salads. Deepak our waiter is very attentive and again nothing is too much trouble.Thank you Westin Powai for another memorable stay.
