Sadly, my overall stay was quite unsatisfactory and did not meet the standards I usually expect from a professional hotel. Even though my booking was prepaid, I was asked to pay an extra ₹500 for early check-in, which I covered myself. The room given was very small and did not match the cost or value, and the hotel staff's attitude was not very polite or welcoming. The breakfast service also fell short of expectations. Compared to what hotels of this category usually offer, the breakfast choices seemed quite limited. A better breakfast selection with a reasonable variety would have been expected, especially for guests on official or work trips. What surprised me more was an incident related to my official work. During my stay, my Controlling Official from the Chennai office and two agency representatives came to the hotel for legitimate work purposes, including paperwork, document preparation, and a meeting. The hotel staff then demanded an extra ₹500 per person for their visit. I found this very surprising and hard to understand. In my 25+ years of professional experience with work travel and hotel stays in various cities, I have never seen such a charge for colleagues or official representatives visiting a guest for genuine professional reasons. I strongly urge the hotel management to explain the basis and policy for these charges and reconsider this practice. Unexpected fees like this, especially for genuine official work, can seriously damage a guest's trust and overall impression of the hotel. I hope the management will take this feedback seriously and work towards greater transparency, fair policies, and a more polite, professional, and guest-friendly approach in the future.
