Raaj Bhaavan Clarks Inn, Chennai OMR

I had a wonderful stay at Raaj Bhavan. The rooms were tidy and comfortable, but what stood out most was the service from the staff, particularly Sanjay. He was very attentive to my needs and went out of his way to assist me with my problems. I highly recommend this place.

I was surprised this hotel is part of the Clarks group. I stayed for two days and was very disappointed from the start, especially with the delayed check-in. Worse, there were no towels in the room. I asked multiple times between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM, but each time was met with vague replies like "We're checking" or "Just give me a moment." Only at 6:00 PM, after calling reception again, did they finally admit the laundry was delayed and no towels were available. This crucial info should have been shared immediately. When I questioned why they hadn’t told me sooner, the front desk manager rudely told me to "Go check with the person who booked this hotel for you." I let it go since I had to leave for an event, but that was unacceptable. The poor service continued with the restaurant staff, who acted rudely during lunch, making it feel like a strict hostel mess hall. Considering his age, we chose not to escalate the issue. Almost everything we needed for the room required multiple calls to reception. The air conditioning was another problem: the unit on the third floor was broken, and when it worked, the temperature was centrally controlled and locked at an uncomfortably warm 23.5°C to 24.5°C, making it hard to sleep in Chennai’s heat. On the positive side, housekeeping was polite and friendly. But overall, due to the awful communication, poor climate control, and unprofessional management, I would definitely not stay here again.

The whole hotel staff merits five stars for their outstanding service. Each member is very welcoming, friendly, professional, and willing to assist. The hotel's food is tasty. The breakfast experience stands out, mainly because of the excellent service provided by Mr. Rahul and Ms. Viji in the food section, and there are many fresh options available for breakfast.
