The Westin Chennai Velachery

We had a wonderful stay at The Westin Chennai Velachery over the long weekend. What truly stood out was the team’s genuine warmth and their consistent effort to make us feel comfortable at every step. From the front desk to housekeeping, and especially the restaurant and lounge staff, everyone was incredibly courteous, attentive, and accommodating’always ready to help, even when we were a bit indecisive. The room was spacious, well-designed, and offered a lovely view of the city skyline. We particularly appreciated the separate work desk area, which made it convenient to catch up on some office work.Food was definitely a highlight of our stay. The breakfast spread at Seasonal Tastes was extensive and thoughtfully curated, with a variety of ’today’s specials’ that were more than satisfying on their own. The freshly prepared juices on request added a nice touch, and the filter coffee was excellent.Although we didn’t get a chance to explore all their dining options this time, we did visit the lounge and enjoyed some simple yet delicious snacks and drinks that added to the overall experience. All in all, it was a delightful stay. The combination of great food and a team that truly prioritizes guest comfort makes this our preferred place to stay in Chennai. We would love to return soon and explore more of what they have to offer.

We had a pleasant stay at westin velachery. From the moment we checked in, the staff made us feel like VIPs. Breakfast buffet was exceptional.Huge shoutout to the staff Vaishnavi, Kushboo, Chef Kartik, Shomadeep, Kamal, Manisha, Injamamel, Shushank, Sumank for going above and beyond to help us with the check in, checkout, and at dining. I would visit westin again and would recommend to my friends and family.

My last review here was ages ago, but I have been staying at the Westin Velachery regularly since 2014 and felt it was time to revisit it. This property has been exceptionally well maintained over the years and continues to feel like a true gem. The staff are consistently warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which makes every stay feel comfortable and familiar.During this visit, the engineering team was prompt and efficient in helping connect my Fire Stick to the TV and also in fixing a minor issue with the bathroom curtain. At breakfast, Sambhu was absolutely lovely and went the extra mile to ensure the day started on a high note. The executive lounge staff like Tanya, Bebee, and Karan continue to be gems and add real value to the overall experience, and the executive lounge Chef Karthik deserves special mention. The chicken pakora, chaat, and veggie wontons were all outstanding, showcasing the kind of thoughtful preparation that elevates the lounge dining experience. The stay itself was very comfortable, and it is impressive to see how well this hotel has held up over so many years. Breakfast remains tasty and reliably satisfying. The location is another clear plus, with the mall just a short walk away. While there were welcome snacks in the room, there was no welcome note this time, and I also did not receive the suite upgrades that were more common in the past. That said, one persistent drawback is the painfully slow and spotty internet, which makes working or streaming quite frustrating. It’s an area that really needs attention to match the otherwise high standards of the property.Even with that limitation, it is still wonderful to see this queen holding up so well, and I am already looking forward to my next stay.

My husband and I recently completed a 6-day stay at The Westin Chennai Velachery and overall found it a pleasant experience.Housekeeping was a clear highlight. Cicilin and her colleague looked after our room with real care and consistency throughout the week. A concierge staff member (in a suit) was also notably attentive and responsive to our requests. On the dining side, Magesh, the sous chef, took care of our meals diligently. The food was consistently tasty and well-presented.One piece of feedback for management concerns room upgrades for loyalty members. As Marriott Bonvoy members, the only real perk extended to us was access to the business lounge. By comparison, as Hilton members we have consistently received suite upgrades across properties in Chennai, Kuala Lumpur, Europe, and Abu Dhabi. This is an area where Westin and the broader Bonvoy programme could learn from Hilton's approach. The staff here are genuinely excellent.Room upgrades will be the deciding factor in whether we return to Westin.Room #9002
