Fairfield by Marriott Chennai Mahindra World City

I had a bad experience with the reservation team. I called to book a room, but they didn't answer. I waited patiently for about 2 hours, but they still did not respond.

This has been my worst hotel experience. Although it is branded Marriott, the room quality was no better than a basic lodge near a bus stand. Everything was old and dull. I checked in at 1:30 AM, and the flush wasn't working. The blanket and bed were stained with many things, and the room was not clean or refreshed with daily necessities. On the third night, I was extremely upset when I opened the room to find everything still dirty and unchanged. It was truly terrible. Our Trip.com package included free laundry, dinner, and two beers, but the hotel staff were unaware and still charged us. We had to change our plans to move to another ITC hotel, but the hotel just simply apologized. The staff were nice, but that did not improve the bad situation I faced.

I am very unhappy with my stay at this hotel. Even though I got a confirmation email for my booking, when I arrived, I was told there were no rooms available. A receptionist said it was due to a "technical glitch," which is not a good enough reason after a reservation is confirmed. It's hard to understand how a confirmed booking can be canceled because of a system problem without informing the guest beforehand. This shows poor management and no responsibility. Also, the hotel is far from the city, making the situation more difficult and stressful. After traveling all the way there, being refused a room despite having confirmation was very upsetting. This kind of carelessness is not what guests expect from a Marriott-associated brand. Experiences like this harm customer trust and hurt Marriott's reputation. One hotel's bad service shouldn't damage Marriott's global standards. I strongly ask the management and Marriott corporate to look into this carefully and take strong action so no other guest faces this. An explanation, responsibility, and fair compensation for the trouble would be welcome.
