Samode Bagh

Was here for 3 nights for a traditional Indian wedding ceremony. Property was approximately 5 hours away from Delhi by car. It was the hunting lodge of the Raja that ruled Jaipur back then, converted to modern resort in 1994. There are 2 main sheltered buildings: one is the lobby building that houses suites, dining hall (Raj Darbar), main kitchen, while the other building is directly opposite the main one and also houses suites. Named lawns are scattered around, the hotel main reception is in the middle of the compound. If you go in further you will see fortress wall, lotus pond, and water fountains. Standard rooms are tent-style and housekeeping must be done in guests' presence (something to take note, you can't leave your room with a tag and expect it to be cleaned). Plugs are the 3 round pins type C/D and type M. Wifi was just bad. Service crews were attentive, food was delicious (there are no other restaurants in the vicinity - remote area), but your mile may vary as our group booked the entire resort for the event. And also when finding route on the map do not confuse Samode Bagh with Samode Palace, they are 2 different places.

We were here to attend a wedding. Truly a magical experience being here. Gorgeous location, grand rooms, courteous staff and food was delicious.. What more can anyone want in a perfect holiday.

I came to stay at Samode Palace with my husband for a night , and never have I been more disappointed in my stay with any hotel. Being a senior citizen , I was given a room next to a family who had a pet dog staying with them. As I stepped for a walk in the veranda in the early hours of the morning, the dog without a leash and its owner around it, came out of the next room and charged at me, giving me a big bite on my leg. Almost all nice and responsible hotels have a strict no dog / pet policy, and now understandably so. And if at all dogs were permitted on this premise., a secluded room should have been given to the owner family. It scares me to think what would have been the case if there was a small child in my place. I am utterly traumatized and shaken by this incident will absolutely not recommend this property to anyone, given its irresponsible handling of this incident and overall management.

Samode Bagh is a serene oasis within 4 hrs drive from Gurgaon. Its grounds are designed on the lines of Char Baghs. The team has nurtured the existing trees and built a Bagh around them. You can see the birds and squirrels scamper all around the ground. Its an amazing way to detox.

Was upgraded to Samode Palace . The palace is a must visit. The food and ambience of the place is awesome. The Durbar hall and the ladies blue room and the mirror room are the finest in Rajasthan. The food is a bit costly, but considering the property star value, it’s ok
