I moved from Taj Amer to Fairmont for a 2 day stay. Though the stay was not bad; but invariably everything got compared to Taj, and that’s why Fairmont felt very underwhelming. My arrival was very bland. No one was present to greet us. We found our way ourselves towards the reception. And upon complaining about the same; the duty manager apologised and said he would make sure that nothing goes wrong from then on. That’s it and the next time he met and asked me about my stay was when he met me (by chance) at the reception during my checkout🤭.The TV set didn’t work during my stay period and had to call the technician 5 times but to no avail. After every half hour, the TV stopped working. The mini fridge also didn’t work during my 2 days’ stay at all. Upon complaining they promptly changed it; but that one also didn’t work . So I didn’t bother again with the TV and Fridge and left the matter as it is. On check-in, I specifically opted for a newspaper at my room in the morning( they themselves recorded the request in the iPad during check-in); but during my 2 days’ stay, had to call everyday to get the newspaper delivered in the morning.The only saving grace was the Buffet breakfast, which was very nice and had a lot of variety. Buffett staff was also very courteous and helpful.Unlike other hotels in Kukas, they also didn’t do any farewell or parting gifting and cake cutting ceremony. Some other little issues were also there but don’t want to go into each and everything at this time. Overall it’s a normal hotel experience nothing worth writing home about. If you want a pleasant and warm luxury experience go for Taj at same price point or Leela if you can spend a little more.
