The hotel was approx. 20 mins walking distance from the golden temple. Getting a rickshaw was readily available. The rooms were large and clean. Though hot water was not readily available until asked of. The staff were accommodating and polite. A Very good value hotel for what you get.

Group • United Kingdom • Oct 2026I booked Amritara Kripa but was moved to a nearby place called Amritara Sadak. The room there was good. The hotel is also close to the Golden Temple and other spots. My main issue is with the GST on food bills. They charged 18% GST but couldn't explain why it was 18%. Also, my booking voucher showed a 15% discount on food which they didn't apply at first. After a lot of trouble, they gave the discount, but they still couldn't provide a GST bill or a breakdown of the food charges. This was very frustrating during my trip. I paid everything but didn't get proper invoices or bills with GST details.

This is my second time staying here and also my second review. My first stay was excellent, but this visit was quite disappointing. There was no one at the reception desk. The security guard called someone to assist, and I went to get my luggage myself. No one helped me with even a single bag. Since no staff was around, I decided to manage on my own. I expected at least the guard to help open the door, but he just looked around even though he saw me waiting. After I dropped off my bags and opened the door, he pretended to help. When I returned with more luggage, the guard just stared without opening the door until I asked him to do so. They didn't offer a welcome drink, only asked if I wanted plain water. After completing the paperwork, I got my room key and took my luggage to the elevator. Only after I loaded everything did the guard offer to help, which felt too late. Overall, it was a very bad experience today, and I won't be booking this hotel again.
