The Leela Palace Chennai

Three cheers to the whole team at The Leela Palace, Chennai, who took care of us during our stay for a weekend getaway.Starting from the time of booking the room where Mr Mrinal at the reception took great care in not only explaining the services and facilities available till the time of check out where he took special care in fastening the process, the while experience was outstanding and exceptional.Ms Sanjana, our Butler, guided us throughout our stay and our floor in charge , Ms Gloria was always available for our help.Special arrangements were made for celebrating the occasion we were celebrating.The room view (sea facing ) was out of the world especially early in the morning during sunrise. The interiors of the room we stayed were top notch and the cleanliness was maintained throughout.Food spread during both the evening high tea and morning buffet breakfast was quite a lot and the service was exceptional.The pool is well maintained and the sauna and Jacuzzi experience was quite fulfilling .We left the place highly satisfied , content and refreshed. We would be planning many more staycations at the Leela palace in future as well and would highly recommend others as well.

A Grand Experience at The Leela Palace ChennaiHad the opportunity to visit The Leela Palace Chennai during our business event, and I must say the property left a lasting impression on me.Right from the moment I entered, the grandeur of the hotel was evident. The architecture, interiors, and overall ambiance beautifully blend royal elegance with modern luxury. Every corner of the property reflects attention to detail and world-class hospitality.During breaks between sessions, I explored different parts of the hotel and was amazed by the magnificent sea-facing views, spacious public areas, and the calm, sophisticated atmosphere throughout the property. It is one of those places that instantly makes you feel relaxed despite being in the middle of a busy schedule.The event facilities were well organized, the service standards were excellent, and the staff were amazingly courteous and very professional in every interaction.My experience at The Leela Palace Chennai was truly memorable. A magnificent property that perfectly represents luxury, class, and hospitality at its finest.

This review is more for the management than for future visitors. I rarely leave critical reviews, but since The Leela Palace is positioned and priced as a 5 star property, my expectations are higher than they would be for an average hotel.This is undoubtedly one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Chennai. The location is excellent, the property itself is beautiful, the rooms are spacious, and every staff member we interacted with was genuinely warm, professional, and courteous.Having stayed at a few 5 star properties around the world, I unfortunately felt that the overall experience did not consistently reflect the 5 star standard.The biggest disappointment was the room experience. We checked in late at night after a redeye flight, and while the check in process itself was smooth and welcoming, the master light control in our original room was not functioning. To the hotel’s credit, we were moved to a nearby room within 10 minutes, which was handled efficiently.However, the replacement room clearly did not appear to have been fully prepared. There was only one bathrobe, no ironing board, no weighing scale and the iron itself was damaged and leaking because a part was missing. These are all relatively minor issues that were quickly addressed, but they are also the sort of details that should not occur at a hotel operating at this price point.There were also smaller maintenance concerns throughout the stay like chipped glass in the bathroom, dated furniture, and an older television setup. None of these issues were severe individually, but together they contributed to the feeling that the rooms are beginning to show their age.The breakfast had a nice spread and attentive staff but nothing mind blowing, we stayed 4 nights and everyday it was basically the same breakfast.Overall, I believe this property has the potential to deliver one of the best stay in Chennai. If the room condition and attention to detail had matched the quality of the staff and property itself, I would have rated the stay much higher.

This has to be one of the BEST stays I have ever been at. I was celebrating my parents 65th and 70th birthday, a huge milestone and I couldn’t have chosen a better place.Shomali (guest relations director) and Sonali made the biggest difference in our experience. From the moment we stepped in, they treated us with so much love and warmth. It felt like family welcoming us in.Sonali made sure she catered to our every need and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. She was reliable and very warm.Shomali, even though she must have been super busy, always made it a point to come and say hi wherever she saw us. And went the extra mile to do thoughtful things that made this an unforgettable trip for my parents. Thank you for your kindness and sincerity towards making sure my parents had a wonderful time!!Leela palace is a beautiful place, but what made it really special was the level of service that was rendered to us. I have stayed in many 5 star hotels but this one is a cut above the rest.Thank you for making this such a wonderful memory!! ’’’’??
