Treebo Maharaja, Near Mall Road

Overall good option for stay near Mall road Shimla. It will took 10-15 minutes to reach the hotel from Shimla railway station and 10-15 minutes from hotel to Christ Church. Deluxe rooms are perfect for stay having valley view. Buffett options during the breakfast are good. Dinner was also tasty. Be prepared for some walk to reach the hotel as taxi/car is not allowed on the mall road.

’I recently stayed at the Treebo Maharaja, arriving on the morning of April 23rd around 8:45 AM. Overall, the experience was a blend of great hospitality and a few service gaps.’Location & AccessibilityThe hotel is located just about 100 meters from Mall Road. However, be prepared for a very steep climb to reach the entrance. If you are carrying heavy luggage or have mobility concerns, this is something to keep in mind, though the proximity to the Mall is a major plus.’Rooms & CleanlinessThe rooms are definitely the highlight of the stay. They are good, neat, and very clean, providing a comfortable and hygienic environment to relax in after a day of exploring.’Check-in & ServiceThe check-in process was a bit rocky. Since I arrived early, I requested an early check-in. Initially, the staff asked for an extra fee to settle in before the standard time. However, after some discussion, they were kind enough to allow me to check in without the additional charge.’A special mention goes to the manager, Mr. Akshay who is a very good person and a professional. He was helpful and made sure the rest of the stay went smoothly.’Amenities & DiningThere were two areas that could use improvement:’Wi-Fi: Despite requesting access, no Wi-Fi was provided during my stay. I was informed the system was out of order, which was quite inconvenient.’Breakfast: The spread is limited. While the quality is satisfactory, don't expect a lavish buffet; it is a basic, functional meal to start your day.’Final VerdictIf you don't mind a bit of a hike and aren't reliant on hotel Wi-Fi, Treebo Maharaja is a solid choice for its clean rooms and proximity to the heart of the city. We were lucky to be in Shimla for the first major snowfall in four years. It was stunningly beautiful but very cold. Mr Mohan Negi and his team looked after our every need, keeping us safe, warm and extremely well fed. The food was outstanding, and although we spent a day snowbound we enjoyed the restaurant and the camaraderie of the other guests. We cannot rate the staff highly enough. The views from our rooms in sunshine and snowfall were beautiful. We will be back!

Our previous hotel cancelled on us while we were en route to Shimla due to heavy snowfall, so our last-minute backup was Treebo Maharaja. We were lucky to get the last available room, although the price was way too inflated price, (4.5k for a basic room) which was understandable given the situation.The hotel is located a bit inside, and with heavy snow it can be difficult to reach. However, the absolute highlight of our stay was Akshay Kumar. He was incredibly helpful, kind, and supportive throughout. Even with poor network connectivity, he took all our calls and guided us patiently. He arranged food and candles when there was no electricity. We genuinely would not have managed the stay without him.That said, the property itself needs serious improvement. Given that it is located in the hills, basic facilities like a heater and a properly working geyser with power backup are a bare minimum. Please also note that the heater is also ’ chargeable.I would strongly suggest upgrading the infrastructure to better handle such weather conditions, as the staff’s efforts truly deserve better support.

Electricity is not good in this hotel.
