I stayed at Shalom Backpackers, Shimla, for three days with my family of four. We booked a family room. While the room was clean and functional, it was quite small for a family. The master double bed was shorter than the standard length, which made it uncomfortable for me as I am six feet tall. The room also lacked basic storage and convenience features such as cupboards and a dressing table with a mirror.Based on the room layout and available facilities, the accommodation appears to be more suitable for solo travelers, backpackers, or groups of friends rather than families with older children.Our booking included complimentary breakfast. However, the breakfast menu offered only a limited selection of items. On the first day, it took approximately 45 minutes for our order to be served. After I requested faster service, the staff improved the response time, and breakfast was served within about 20 minutes on the following two days.One of the positive aspects of the property is its common areas, which include two balcony spaces and a recreation room for guests. The location is also convenient, particularly for travelers who do not have their own vehicle.Overall, Shalom Backpackers offers a good location and useful common facilities, making it a suitable choice for backpackers and bachelor travelers. However, families looking for spacious rooms is less suitable for their needs.
Location is very nice. The manager was very understanding and helpful. Clean and hygienic place also very safe for solo travellers. Food was very tasty.
It is located in a highly congested area with very limited parking space. The staff keep forcing travelers to eat in their canteen. They even charge extra for providing towels. Overall, it was a waste of money and not worth the stay.
