Extremely unsafe and unethical. We were deliberately abandoned at night. We booked this hotel 15 days in advance and paid ’1000 as advance. Even during our journey, we kept reconfirming multiple times that the booking was intact and requested them not to give the room to anyone else, since we were already on the way. They assured us every single time.Because of extreme traffic, what should have been a 2.5-hour bus ride turned into nearly 12 hours. By the time we reached, it was very late at night, snowing, slippery, freezing cold, and pitch dark. We were exhausted and just wanted to reach the hotel and rest.Since the roads were blocked and we had heavy suitcases, we only inquired about a cab pickup. The owner quoted ’1000 for a 5-minute drive, which was clearly unreasonable. He also pushed a ’3000 package for Kufri, but since our first day was already ruined due to travel delays and we only had one day left, we clearly said we are not interested. We politely declined the offer and informed him we would come on foot/by bus.Everything was fine’until it suddenly wasn’t.When we were barely 500 meters away, walking with our suitcases in slippery conditions, he called us sounding angry and irritated, repeatedly asking ’When will you come’? and abruptly said he was cancelling the booking. We were shocked. We called back immediately, and he casually said, ’I already gave the hotel to someone else. Nothing can be done. Why were you so late’’?as if the traffic, snow, and safety risks were somehow our fault, despite us informing him constantly and paying advance. We were all women, including three international guests and two of us from out of state. He knew this. He knew it was peak season, snowing, and late night. Still, he chose to cancel our booking 15 minutes before arrival, most likely because someone agreed to pay more. What hurt even more was the change in behavior. During booking, he acted overly sweet, calling us ’behenji’ and pretending to be caring. The moment we refused his overpriced cab and tour package, his tone turned cold, rude, and hostile.Yes, he refunded the ’1000.But a refund does not fix being stranded at night in snow with no place to go.Every other hotel was fully booked. We were left dragging suitcases in dangerous conditions, scared and helpless. This was not just unprofessional’it was irresponsible and inhuman. Is this how ’behenjis’ are treated here?Is this how women travelers are valued? This hotel owner clearly prioritizes money over human safety. Once a higher-paying guest appears, your confirmed booking means nothing.Do NOT book this place. If you value your safety, especially as a woman or group traveler, stay far away
