Treebo Maharaja, Near Mall Road

Staff is very cooperative. Even for the minor corrections, they take-up on highest priority. Food quality is very good. Nice & quiet stay. Very approachable to Mall road. Kali Badi Mandir is adjacent/walkable. Overall excellent experience.

My stay at Treebo Maharaja, Shimla was comfortable overall. The rooms were well-maintained, neat, and clean, making for a pleasant stay.The location is good, but reaching the hotel can be a bit challenging. Public transport is not allowed in this part of Shimla, so guests need to walk from AG Chowk. Since Shimla's terrain is quite steep, the walk can be tiring, especially when carrying luggage.The main area that needs improvement is the breakfast. Although breakfast was included in my booking, the options were very limited, with little to no variation in the menu from day to day. The food was often served cold, and coffee was not available as part of the breakfast. A wider selection and better quality of service would greatly enhance the guest experience.Overall, it was a good stay with clean rooms and a decent location, but the breakfast service could be improved significantly.

We didn't have a good experience in the hotel.We stayed here for 5 nights. During booking, we were promised a room with either a Mall Road view or a mountain view. However, there is actually no Mall Road view available from this hotel, so it should not have been offered in the first place.Initially, we were given a room with a very poor view, completely blocked by nearby buildings and wires outside the window. Only after we requested was the room changed. Even then, the staff mentioned that since we were staying for a longer duration, other travelers might also demand the same room, which did not feel appropriate.Another major issue was the electricity problem during the first two days. Power went off several times, and even lights and fans were unavailable for around 30 minutes.We had specifically requested not to be disturbed in the mornings, but despite that, we received repeated landline calls every day around 8am regarding food and cab services.The breakfast was average with limited options. The geyser and other room facilities were functioning properly.After checkout, we wanted to keep our luggage at the hotel for around 2 hours, but the staff didn’t seem very comfortable with it,

Overall, the experience was a blend of great hospitality and a few service gaps.’Location & AccessibilityThe hotel is located just about 100 meters from Mall Road. However, be prepared for a very steep climb to reach the entrance. If you are carrying heavy luggage or have mobility concerns, this is something to keep in mind, though the proximity to the Mall is a major plus.’Rooms & CleanlinessThe rooms are definitely the highlight of the stay. They are good, neat, and very clean, providing a comfortable and hygienic environment to relax in after a day of exploring.’Check-in & ServiceThe check-in process was a bit rocky. Since I arrived early, I requested an early check-in. Initially, the staff asked for an extra fee to settle in before the standard time. However, after some discussion, they were kind enough to allow me to check in without the additional charge.’A special mention goes to the manager, Mr. Akshay who is a very good person and a professional. He was helpful and made sure the rest of the stay went smoothly.’Amenities & DiningThere were two areas that could use improvement:’Wi-Fi: Despite requesting access, no Wi-Fi was provided during my stay. I was informed the system was out of order, which was quite inconvenient.’Breakfast: The spread is limited. While the quality is satisfactory, don't expect a lavish buffet; it is a basic, functional meal to start your day.’Final VerdictIf you don't mind a bit of a hike and aren't reliant on hotel Wi-Fi, Treebo Maharaja is a solid choice for its clean rooms and proximity to the heart of the city. If you are looking for a nice comfortable stay in budget, this is a very good hotel. I stayed for one night including breakfast.The view from the room is very nice. The rooms itself are very good, spacious and clean in this cost. Service is excellent.You need to walk around 800 meters to reach actual Mall road which can be a bit tricky with kids as you need to hike.Breakfast had very limited options and a bit cold but I expect them to improve it further.Overall experience was good and satisfactory.
