We stayed at the Ashoka Inn for 2 days on our trip to shimla. We had an amazing stay. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. The owner goes beyond to make your stay comfortable. We aren't used to cold weather so we requested a heater and were provided one. Also provided extra blankets in the room. The stay was worry free and the owner helped us a ton. The location is absolutely perfect. Can see the snowy mountains from the roof and balcony. Its walking distance to the ridge, lakkar bazar, mall road. They also do a bonfire in the evening. If youre looking for a fun stay in shimla this is definitely the place to go.

The property's location is just amazing once you go through the trouble to get there. At a stone throw distance from the ridge and lakkar bazaar, spend your evenings strolling through the mall, ridge and bazaar on foot. The best part is the view from hotel's dining terrace. Panaromic views of Shimla city and valley. They also arrange a bonfire in the terrace in the evenings. Staff is also very hospitable and will go out of their way to make your stay comfortable.My only complaint would be that the breakfast spread leaves a lot to be desired. They have just 2 or 3 options which do not rotate much over days, and taste was also mediocre.Note: the property is at Mall Road where private taxis / cars are not permitted so the access to the hotel is quite complicated and goes through narrow roads of jakhoo temple road. I don't recommend self drive, and do connect with hotel staff for directions, google maps will mislead.

We enjoyed very much at this property. Sudesh sharma ji, the owner, is a down to earth person and makes sure that you get good hospitality and best comfort. Ayush helped us in a smooth check in check out. Location is excellent. You can enjoy beautiful sunset. Ridge is just 3 min walking.Just one caution, talk to Ayush to confirm the route to reach this hotel, so that you don't struggle

We stayed at Ashoka Inn Hotel in Shimla and had a really pleasant experience. The service and staff were very good, and a special mention to Manager Surendar who was extremely polite, kind, and very helpful throughout our stay. The food was delicious and well-served, and even the cab service provided by the hotel was smooth and reliable. Overall, a comfortable and memorable stay. Highly recommended!
