Overall a great experience! Will surely recommend it if you are looking for a stay near Mall road. They have proper parking space and the staff is well spoken, specially Mr. Dev Chatterjee.

An honest feedback from someone who is frequent traveler and pay attention to details.Stayed at Royaletreat Hotel, Shimla (Room No. 104, Oct 2’5).Name says ’Royal treat,’ but honestly it felt like "Loyal defeat." Sharing highlights for future brave souls:Day 1:Bedsheet: looked like modern art, smelled like history.Towels: oil painting edition.Hot water: came in ’turmeric yellow’ flavor.TV: subscription expired, had 2 useless remotes but none to change channels. Genius.Restaurant: food tasty, but sofas looked older than Shimla Mall Road benches.Roti? Rs. 60 each ’’ Ate 10 rotis = ’600, could’ve sponsored a small roti startup.Bonus: Staff asked me to move my parked car at midnight 'cause valet ’can’t drive.’ Same guy later drove someone else’s car smoothly. So apparently, my car is allergic to staff.Day 2:Breakfast buffet = vegan sadness.Options: papaya, watermelon, cornflakes jar with 1 spoon musli, and ’overboiled eggs.’Tea kettle? Arrived after half an hour of ghost service.Freezer that doesn’t freeze ’ staff’s logic: ’Sir, it’s working’ to keep things warm.’ Innovation at its peak.Linen: complained already, still dirty next day. Asked again, waited an hour. Probably room service was stuck scrubbing the ’60 rotis.Day3:Consistent with not bothering on earlier raised issues, such as freeze still not working, tea still not on time in breakfast and water jet in bathroom still making floor towel wet n slippery.After billing paid : Although I requested to provide Bill and be ready with checkout formalities before I start breakfast, still after I complete breakfast it took lot of time wastage to close the billings and mind it it's not in practice for them to give bill until u ask them deliberately. I have to raised my earlier raised inconveniences but no one bother much including the Receptionist Shweta, who I feel is very new to this kind of job, she neither bother to ask me to fill up their written feedback form (which I know is there but) nor ready to admit that there is any mistake or delay from their side , may b I have already raised too many complaints so they saved paper form only for positive feedback or may b filled the feedback form on my behalf after I left.Overall:If you want laughs, frustration, and rotis more expensive than your Netflix monthly plan ’ this is the perfect stay.If you want hygiene, service, and working basics’ maybe not.’ Rating: 2.5/5 (Half star only for taste of food, other 1 star for comedy show by staff). 1 star to few staff members who tried best to resolve complaints by taking corrective action but overall I am expecting lots of space for preventive actions so won't try or recommend this hotel again ever. Owner should take some strict actions before too late.

Our recent stay at the Royale Retreat in Shimla was truly memorable. The hotel's location is a huge plus, offering easy walking access to the famous Mall Road, which is great for exploring the city's sights and sounds.The culinary experience was definitely a highlight. The food was simply awesome, with a wide range of delicious options. Special thanks to Ramlal, who was so attentive and friendly during our meals in the restaurant.What truly set this hotel apart was the exceptional service provided by the staff. We were particularly impressed with Sonam and Shweta at the reception, who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and smooth. Their warm and professional attitude made us feel incredibly welcome throughout our visit. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Shimla!

We just got back from an awesome 2-night stay at Hotel Royal Retreat in Shimla. The location is perfect’peaceful yet close enough to all the main attractions including Ridge (just 5-10 mins walk). The staff were genuinely friendly and super professional; every single request was handled with care, and they made us feel right at home.The breakfast spread was impressive, and all the food we tried was fresh and delicious. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and offered beautiful views. We especially loved how the team always greeted us with a smile and made sure everything went smoothly.Overall, we’re extremely happy with our stay. Great place, amazing service, awesome food, and a fantastic location’can’t wait to come back the next time we’re in Shimla!
