Faith and history define Ajmer. The town’s closest association is with the Dargah Sharif, the final resting place of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, whose disciples included the Mughal emperors. Devotees now visit here from all over the world. At the tomb chamber, the air is thick with the scent of roses, incense and the fervour of prayer. Outside, even in the lanes of the modest town, it’s possible to glimpse the past. It's time to seek some divine intervention and simultaneously plan an enjoyable, exciting vacation at Ajmer.
Situated amidst the beautiful Aravali Range, Ajmer is literally wrapped in the hills. Regardless of the weather condition, the famous pilgrimage center is flocked by visitors throughout the year. Home to the Sufi saint Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti's tomb, it is an important place of worship for Muslims as well as Hindus. Ajmer is not only limited to being a sacred place, it has majestic lakes, historical monuments and grand Mughal mansions and no wonder, the city can be easily termed as the regal state. Even though Ajmer is not a shopping destination, you can easily find interesting items like beautiful silver jewellery, wonderful artifacts and other stuff. Some other attractions are Nasiyan Jain Temple, Ana Sagar and Adhai-din-ka-Jhonpra.

"memorable trip"
reviewed on Jul 01 2014
One of my friend is from Ajmer. Ajmer is a short drive away from Jaipur, and is home to the Holy shirine of Dargah Sharif. Both Hindu and Muslims have visiting this tomb of Hazrat Khwaja Muinuddin Hasan Chisty, really very spritual place. We all have to must visit there once in our life! After seeing Dargah, we leave the town behind and head to Pushkar. Just about 14km from Ajmer buses leave Ajmer for Pushkar rvery half hour. Pushkar is famous for the only Bramha Temple in whole world. Must try to stay at Pushkar Palace, i am saying because from the every corner of this small hotel you will find the beauty of real Pushkar, a lake surrounded by hills. We had also enjoyed there local food > Malpua, its a deep fried sweet Puri [wheat flour puri] and must try Lassi.
