The tall green trees, with hues of golden sunlight, and the call of the jungle beckons you to the paradise of Sariska. With the bounty of nature, with abundant architectural delights right at your doorstep, you’d hardly want to stay indoors and not explore. Wondering what to do in Sariska? Here’s a peek in the activities that you can fit into your itinerary for a seriously fun-filled vacation:

  • Jeep Safari

The ideal way to explore this abundance of natural beauty is of course in an open jeep safari. Most hotels in the vicinity have facilities for arranging these expeditions. There also RTDC approved tour operators who arrange for a safari at government approved rates. A jeep safari for 5 people costs around INR 1100, with the possibility of one additional person at the charge of INR 200.

Entry Fee: INR 25 for Indian nationals, INR 200 for International tourists
    Timings: 6am to 4pm (Summer), 7am to 3pm (Winter)
    Duration of Safari: 3 hours
Guide Charges: INR 150 (one guide is compulsory per jeep)

    Needless to say,
hunting is completely banned in the national park and surrounding areas and can lead to heavy penalties and punishment. On these safaris, it is ideal to carry water bottles, some light snacks, sunglasses and mosquito repellent lotions. A basic first-aid kit, with band-aids, antiseptic cream, etc. is also advisable, in case of any emergency. The sanctuary is open all through the year except between 1st July and 30th September.

  • Photography

When you hear the sound of a “click”, are you automatically thinking about megapixels, camera noise and the size of the lens? If photography is your soul’s calling, then Sariska calls you into its folds. Click away with the tall, verdant trees that surround you and the eyes of a jungle creature peering at you from behind them.
Make sure you mute your camera and switch off the flash for you don’t want to alarm the birds and animals there. You’ll need to pay a charge of INR 200 at entry if you’re planning to take video shots, though still photography is free. You’ll mostly be clicking while on a safari, so keep the band of the camera around your neck at all times to avoid it from slipping or falling.

A thrilling time, with the promise of a lifetime of memories, awaits you right here at Sariska. Get packing and start dreaming of that perfect vacation that you’ve been planning for!
