Great spot to relax with excellent food and service.

- The breakfast buffet was underwhelming, with very few options and food quality that fell short of expectations. - Service was slow and ineffective throughout my stay. Guests were told to use WhatsApp for communication, but calls and messages often went unanswered, and requests were delayed or ignored. - Basic amenities were missing, including simple items like safety pins and other usual guest supplies. - The booking information was incorrect. I was told Mall Road was about a 25-minute walk away, but it actually took nearly an hour by taxi to get there. - Promised dining options were not fulfilled. A buffet dinner advertised at ₹500 per person was only offered once with a limited menu and was unavailable on other days for various reasons. - Room upkeep and housekeeping were poor. There were several spiders in the room, and no mirror was present on arrival. A replacement mirror was provided only after repeated requests and more than a day’s wait. - The internet never worked during my stay. - Guest services were inconsistent. Although the room info said early breakfast could be arranged on request, my request was refused. - Alcoholic drinks like beer and whisky were priced much higher than at comparable hotels. - Management handled complaints unprofessionally and showed little effort to address issues. Overall, my stay was negatively impacted by poor service, inadequate room maintenance, unreliable facilities, and unmet promises. I recommend future guests verify any assurances made during booking before confirming their reservation.

We stayed for two nights at Shimla British Resort and found it to be a pleasant and cozy experience. The property exudes a lovely heritage vibe, with the Scottish Cottage being a standout for those who enjoy traditional heritage-style lodging. The resort's tranquil setting makes it ideal for relaxation away from city noise. However, the food is quite pricey, such as a plain tawa roti costing about ₹50, which is much higher than usual market prices. Staff availability after 10:30 PM is limited since most return to their rooms, which can be inconvenient during urgent needs. There is no intercom, and mobile network or internet connectivity is weak, making it hard to reach staff when necessary. The hotel also lacks proper taxi booking services, so guests may need to arrange transport themselves, though the staff helped us by dropping us at a nearby cab stand. Our room was initially downgraded but was upgraded after we raised the issue. Aman, the property manager, deserves special mention for being polite, supportive, and helpful, though some issues are beyond his control and relate to overall management. In summary, it was a comfortable stay, especially for those who value heritage properties. Despite some service and facility shortcomings, I would recommend this place for its unique charm and peaceful atmosphere.

Our stay at Simla British Resort in the Finnish Cottage was truly wonderful. The property stands out with its unique heritage and vintage appeal that transports you back in time. Antique items and historical artifacts from the British period are displayed throughout the resort, which is also very well-kept, clean, and comfortable. The main caretaker, possibly named Wajit, was exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. He gave us a personal tour of the property, including the Scottish Villa and the British Royal Suite, sharing intriguing stories about the resort's past that enriched our experience. The food was another highlight; every meal was tasty, freshly made, and flavorful. Overall, it was a charming blend of history, hospitality, comfort, and excellent cuisine. We highly recommend Simla British Resort for anyone seeking a unique and memorable stay in Shimla.
