Hidden in one of the remotest corners of India in Western Himalayas, Zanskar Valley has unmatched splendor to it. Zanskar lies between Lahaul valley to its south and  Indus valley of Ladakh to its North. Towards the west of Zanskar lies the Kargil district and Rupshu and Changtang regions of Ladakh borders the east.

To experience the enchanting Zanskar valley to the fullest, you can take the road  from Kargil and experience its untouched and unparalleled beauty. The road is a fair-weather road, open only from June to October.

In winters the only way in and out of Zanskar is a stunning, but treacherous trek along the frozen Zanskar river. The trek is one of the most famous treks among trekkers all across the world, known as Chadar Trek.

Hikes and treks along Zanskar river provide the best experience of Zanskar, that will linger on in your memories for a lifetime.

[IMPORTANT: The Chaddar Trek is a 6 day trek in severe sub-zero, almost inhospitable conditions, so it is best if you take proper medical advice and guidance before you buckle yourself up for it.]

During summer, adventure buffs come to Zanskar Valley to raft on the unrestrained Zanskar river where rapids are typically class 4 and class 5. Starting from a mere 6 hours, rafting trips can last for as long as 7 days. White water rafting expedition starts near Padum and ends just after the Sangam (the spot where the Zanskar river meets the mighty Indus river).

Get a closer look at the terrain from Padum to Sangam and you will be able to speculate the steep gradient that will ensure a high adrenalin experience all the way.

You must also explore the serenity of Pibiting, Karsha and the Stongde gompa that are three of the biggest monasteries in the Zanskar region. You will be awe inspired by the sheer beauty of this place and the simplicity of the people here.

With so much to explore and experience, get ready for one of the most unique vacations you have ever had.
