about amareswara swamy temple

At Amararama Temple, Lord Shiva is worshipped as Amaralingeswara Swamy or Amareswara Swamy, along with his consort Bala Chamundika. This Temple along with the Draksharama Temple in Draksharamam, Ksheerarama Temple in Palakol, Somarama Temple in Bhimavaram and the Kumararama Temple in Samalkota, forms the holy Pancharama Kshetram.

The Shiva idol is very Tall and has a red stain on top. It is said that the lingam was continuously growing in size and a nail was hammered in at the top to stop its growth. A soon as the nail went in, blood had poured out, the stains still visible today. Like the Draksharama Temple, the walls here are filled with inscriptions

Mahashivaratri, Kalyana Utsava and Navaratri are the the main festivals celebrated here.
