about athirappilly waterfalls

The Athirappilly Falls is located in a small place called Athirappilly in the Thrissur district of Kerala. It is a majestic waterfall that is 78 km from Kochi. It is set at the entrance of the Sholayar ranges and is often nicknamed as the Niagara Falls of India . It is part of the Chalakudy River that originates in the Anamudi mountains of the Western Ghats.

The very sight of this waterfall refreshes and rejuvenates an onlooker’s body and soul. Flowing through the Vazhachal Forest toward the Arabian Sea the waterfall cascades along offering the most bewitching sights you have ever seen in your lifetime. Combined with the greenery, it infuses freshness into any tired soul. The Athirapally Falls finally joins the Chalakkudy river after crashing down from an altitude of 80 feet high.

A gorgeous water body (one of the best place in Trissur, Kerala). Falling in the smaller waterfalls of Athirappilly, these falls are a beauteous sight nonetheless.
