Which are the best places to cover in North-East India in 9 days?

So all set to explore the beautiful North East India to the fullest, right? Well, we are happy to help on you on that as here are some places in this part of the country which should be there in your itinerary of not to miss attractions:

Day 1 & 2

You can start your travel rendezvous with the picturesque Guwahati, the biggest city in the North-East, which is defined by the breathtaking river Brahmaputra. Home to a number of attractions, mainly the famous Kamakhya Temple, this bustling city also boasts of being the largest CTC Tea Auction Centre globally. You can also opt for Brahmaputra Cruise which is a fun way to see the river and its environs. The town is well-connected to other cities in India via air, rail and road.

Day 3 & 4

Your next stop after Guhawati is the breathtakingly beautiful, Shillong which is a pleasant 3-hour ride from the former city. All along the road, tall and lanky betelnut trees sway in the breeze and vantage points look on to scenic rolling hills. Even though it is a small hill station, but still you will need 2 days to fully soak up and experience its scenic beauty. There are a plethora of attractions here as the place is full of wonderful surprises that you would love to explore. You can either opt for a night stay here or travel back to Guwahati.

Day 5 & 6

If you are the adventurous types and want to feel a little closer to the nature, a visit to Kaziranga National Park, one of the most famous wildlife sanctuaries in India, would be the best bet. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and a tourist-friendly and popular reserve, Kaziranga is internationally known for its importance as one of the last undisturbed habitats of the Great Indian one-horned rhinoceros. It is approx 3 hour ride from Guwahati and you can easily get a cab from there. However, if you want to enjoy a safari ride the same day, you have to really start early.

Day 7, 8 & 9

Done with the popular cities and touristy attractions and want to take home memories of unexplored territories of North East as well? Don't worry as there are a lot to discover and capture when you are here and all you have to do is just plan your day advance and enjoy the experience to the hilt!
