Actually Pramodji, most of the revered "gurus" and saints are going to be in Prayag (Allahabad) during Jan-Feb period for the Mahakumbh, so some of the best kathas / Srimadbhagwat kathas from famous katha-vaachaks are going to be held there. Since it is not very far from Varanasi, we suggest you go to Allahabad instead for a Kumbh snana as well as Katha - what a sanyog that will be ! By the way, iXiGO can tell you how to go from Varanasi to Allahabad too !

1. Devkinandanji Maharaj - Bhagavat Katha from Feb 22nd to Mar 1st everyday at Maha Kumbh Yatra Shanti Shivir, Triveni Sangam, Allahabad.
Official site: http://www.vssct.com/

2. Sri Thakurji - Bhagwat Katha from Jan 28 to Feb 3rd everyday at the Kumbh Mela. Official site: http://www.shrithakurji.org/Thakurji/default.html

3. Jagadguru Rambhadracharya - Shrimad Bhagavat Katha - Jan 15th to Jan 22nd at Kumbh Mela, Prayag.
Official website: http://jagadgururambhadracharya.org/

4. Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj - Shrimad Bhagavat Katha - Feb 1st to Feb 7th from 3 PM to 6 PM at Prabhu Premi Singh Kumbh Mela Camp, Plot-9, Sector-9, Annapurna Marg, Jhunsi.
Official Website: http://www.prabhuprem.org.in/

5. Sri Morari Bapu - Ram Katha (not Bhagavat Katha, but highly recommended), January 20th to January 27th : 9.30 or 10 am onwards at Old G.T RD Section 9 Jhunsi - Allahabad.

Brilliant Answer Aloke! :-)

Pramod Ji, I completely agree with Aloke.

In Varanasi, one place where you can experience the Shrimad Bhagvat in its true spirit is the ISKCON Temple, Varanasi.

You can find out more about the temple here: http://www.iskconvaranasi.com/index.html

Here are the details of the temple:

Address: B 27/80 Durgakund Road, Near Durgakund Police Station, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India – 221010
Phone: +91 9936108889 +91 (0542) 246422, +91 (0542) 222617, +91 09616125098

I know that they organize the Srimad Bhagvat Katha from time to time. You may calll up on the numbers given above and check if they are organizing one in January/February.

Hope it helps!
