about bomra's

Hidden among the glaring neon lights and innumerable other restaurants, Bomra's is frequented only by a few patrons who are 'in the know'. Sampling some of their unfamiliar but none the less, exemplary dishes, you might be hard pressed to wonder why isn't there a huge line waiting at the gates. With very unpretentious decoration of simple low cane chairs and hanging paper lanterns, the focus rests entirely on the food. You can start with their home-made Shan tofu drizzled with tamarind soy sauce or the rare beef salad with fresh mint, coriander, basil and sprouts (vegetarians can try the nutty tea leaf salad). For the mains, go for the pork belly with a cashew crust, tossed with lentils herbs and apple chutney or straw mushrooms cooked with lychee, chestnuts and spinach in a coconut gravy. Wrap up your meal with either chocolate fondue and home-made vanilla ice cream, or the poached fig with frozen yoghurt. With fantastic and unconventional combinations which just zing on your tongue, they aren't called "Goa's best kept secret" for nothing!

Bomra's spicy king prawn curry was the best I ever had, located in Candolim Goa this one is good restaurant, but the price tag should come down from each and every item.
