about casa batllo

One of Gaudi's masterpieces, the Casa Batllo is a reconstruction of an old house. Bearing an almost skeletal facade, the house is more commonly known as  Casa dels ossos (House of Bones).

The astonishing building has garnered much appreciation over time and is one of the most visited sightseeing spots in the city. Another striking feature of the house is the use of irregular lines. Following Gaudi's belief about the absence of straight lines in nature, the building bears a certain sense of irregularity. The roof of the house represents the back of a dragon. Gaudi has used tiles of different colours to symbolise the back of the animal.

Intriguing and spell binding, the Casa Batllo is an unforgettable experience.
