Gwalior situated in the state of Madhya Pradesh is a good place to visit especially during the mela(fare) season. The Gwalior mela is one of the biggest fares of India. besides the mela, there are many other places too for sightseeing which are- The Gwalior fort, Madhorao Scindhia palace, and many more such places with a minimal entry fees. Also do eat pohas and gazzak of Gwalior.

Historic Gwalior.

Gwalior, prominent in the pages of history is the origin of the incredible musical performer, Tansen, has a rich legacy of the past Rajputs, took after by the British rulers. The city likewise gained its chronicled prevalence from the compelling Scindia group Gwalior is presented with a rich verifiable past. The city has kept up its appeal through the progression of time, with its magnificent structural planning and encompassing superb slopes. The celebrated medieval peak stronghold was said to be 'the pearl among st posts in India' by the incredible Mughal head Babur. Flooding with society and convention, Gwalior is a much looked for after end of the line in Central India. In the fourteenth century Ibn Batuta talked about Gwalior as a "fine town of white stone" and Warren Hastings in 1780 called it the "way to Indostan", however today, there isn't much to do here once you've seen the great post and different sights other than meander around the bylanes to retain the kind of the city. The Old City makes for an intriguing walk. History buffs may revel in Gwalior for a somewhat unique two-dawn.

Good for a 2-3 day trip in winter
24 Jun 2014
One of my favourite cities of India and I specially like it for Jai Vilas Palace and Old fort. Normally the temperatures are high in summers, so it is normally recommended to plan small trips of 2-3 days in winters. Specially one can enjoy the annual shopping mela which normally happens in January.

Gwalior is the one of the oldest cities in central India and is known for its culture and heritage. For a long time this city has served as a land for saints, artists and heroes. At the heart of the city is the gwalior fort and is the most magnificent monument. The fort walls still stand, two miles in length and 35 feet high. Some other marvelous structures that are a must visit are: Gujari mahal and archeological museum, man mandir palace, teli ka temple, jal vilas palace, tansen's tomb, ghaus mohammad's tomb.

GWALIOR

A small yet energy packed city north of M.P. Set beautifully, surrounded by mountains. The Gwalior Fort overlooks the city, dates back to the 15th Century, with heavy artillery Cannon guns still guarding it's surrounding area, and thousands of secret passageways leading to strange places and palaces. This Urban city, has legends of its own and stories to be told about. Historically exploited by the British, Still projects the colonial architechture and has seen a lot of all that , which the earlier generations had to offer. So has a charm of it own. People of this culturally diversified town, have a nature of their own. Are of course hospitable, for how long? There's only one way to know... A must visit, has to be seen. Good food, Good weather, Good people, Good places not so good nightlife. Uhmmm But what the heck take a break, sit back relax and enjoy as the time goes by slowly and takes you with it, On a nostalgic trip. It's Magical.
