The majestic Gateway of India, the balmy sea breeze, the gigantic sea waves, striking architectural structures, magnificent skyscrapers, colourful stores and much more, beckon you to indulge your senses in the City of Dreams, Mumbai. With excellent transportation system and excellent connectivity with most of the major cities around the world, Mumbai easily tops the charts as one of the most preferred tourist destinations.

  • By Road

    Car

Reclining on the passenger seat as the breeze caresses your face, humming a familiar tune and watching the tall trees and cars swish past, sounds like a dream doesn’t it? Well, a drive to Mumbai could be that and much more! Situated barely 152 km from Pune, this vibrant and dynamic city is fairly easy to reach. National highway numbers 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 17, and the Mumbai-Pune expressway radiating from the city provide links to all the parts of the country. The road conditions are comparatively better than the rest of the country.

    Bus

You could even choose to take a bus to Mumbai provided you do not experience sickness of any kind. The MSRTC (Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation), commonly known as ST, operates services to Mumbai from various cities in Maharashtra. Several state owned buses also ply on this route connecting Mumbai to all the neighboring points. Many Deluxe and Super Deluxe buses are available to travel with fares as low as INR 3 to INR 4 per kilometer.

    Cab

In case you choose to drop the first two ideas you could opt for a cab. A number of air conditioned blue cabs are available which provide a comfortable ride. With an 11 hours drive from Goa and barely 3 hours from Pune, you can sit back and relax as a chauffeur drives you to your destination.

  • By train

Mumbai is very well connected with most major cities in the country. The main railway station Chhatrapati Shivaji Station caters to trains plying within the city and outside. The Central line serves Southern India, Eastern India and some parts of North India whereas the Western line connects to the Western states of Gujarat and Rajasthan. The newly built Konkan Railway caters to the scenic Konkan coast. Trains from Mangalore, Goa and Kerala find their stoppage here.
