about birla mandir

Set in an oasis of green, Birla Mandir in Jaipur observes a huge influx of tourists and devotees all year-round. Take a walk around the splendid gardens, spend some quiet time or simply let the splendid architecture take your breath away! Built completely with shining white marble, this temple also has carvings of deities from other religions, spreading the message of brotherhood and harmony among mankind. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and his consort, Goddess Lakshmi.

Constructed by the Birla Group of industries in 1988, the Birla Mandir (also known as Lakshmi Narayan Temple) is situated below the Moti Dungri Fort. Rising from the serene, lush green gardens, the temple is a complete treat for the eyes and acts like a balm to your very soul. If you take off your shoes and take a walk around the place, you will be left spell-bound at the intricacy of the carvings and the minute details they manage to capture.

The temple's beauty takes on an all new level of majesty every evening after the sun sets. The lighting comes on and it seems as if the temple is basking in its own divine halo. Photography is prohibited at the temple, so try and capture it the best way you can in your memory!

There is a handicraft shop right at the gates of the temple. Great bargain and an awesome place to pick up some souvenirs and gifts!
