Assuming you are driving from Mumbai to Ajmer via NH 8, there are a number of sightseeing options en route. The route takes you through Vapi, situated on the banks of Daman Ganga as well as parts of Daman and Silvassa, both places of immense cultural and natural heritage. Next you will be crossing Gujarat where Bharuch and Gandhinagar are excellent stopover points. In fact Swaminarayan Temple in Bharuch is located on NH 8.

Next up is Rajasthan where Udaipur and Delwara are must stopovers. While Udaipur’s splendorous royal heritage and sparkling lakes are distinct lures, Delwara is known for its widely popular Jain Dilwara temples built entirely of marble by the Chalukyas between 11th and 13th century.

Yet another appeal of stopping at Delwara is its proximity to Mount Abu, Rajasthan’s only hill station located 4.5 km away. A detour to Mount Abu will be worth your while.

Have a rocking trip!

Ajmer is one of the well connected cities in Rajasthan. There are several trains from Mumbai to Ajmer, which would take a day or two. If you're up for enthralling experience and sightseeing, plan up a roadtrip to Ajmer from Mumbai.
