about nakhoda mosque

The Nakhoda Mosque is said to be the largest mosque in Kolkata. The mosque was built in 1926 by Abdur Rahim, a merchant from Kutch. The structure is made of red sand stone and was modelled on Akbar's tomb in Sikandra near Agra. The mosque's prayer hall has a capacity of 10,000 people. This beautiful mosque is a must visit as it is so wonderfully constructed that you are sure to be left in awe by its grandeur.
