Reached via a beautiful drive from Mumbai through the ghats, Malshej Ghat is a wildly beautiful haven of high peaks and lush valleys. Here is a list of some not to miss experiences when you are a planning a one day trip tour to Malshej Ghat from Mumbai.

A visit to Pimpalgaon Joga Dam

From July to September, check out the backwaters of Pimpalgaon Joga Dam where migratory birds arrive in droves. There is not much to do here but to just sit back and enjoy the breath-taking natural beauty of the place.

Lenyadri Girijatmaka Temple

Go on a wonderfully scenic drive to Lenyadri Girijatmaka Temple, 35 km away, which is home to the Girijatmaj Ganpati. The temple is perched high up on a majestic peak, accessed by 307 winding steps.

The beautiful Malshej waterfall is a must visit, especially in the monsoons when it becomes all the more alluring and scenic. However, avoid getting too close to the falls as the area is quite slippery.

While Malshej Ghat is an excellent place for a relaxed and stress-free holiday, it also offers many trekking options. If you enjoy hiking and trekking, then you will love a trip to Malshej Ghat. There are a number of interesting treks you can take and discover the flora and fauna of this region.

However, if you are planning to take trek here, it will be a good idea to extend your trip by at least one day so that you can make your most of time at Malshej Ghat and not tire yourself out. There are a couple of nice resorts here as well (Sushant Holiday Resort and Flamingo Hill Resort).

Eating Out

Even though you won’t find too many restaurants here, there are several resorts like Sushant Holiday Resort and Flamingo Hill Resort that have reasonably good in-house restaurants. These are ideal both for either a quick bite or a sumptuous meal. The Visvash Garden Restaurant is another good option. It is famous for its authentic Maharashtrian cuisine.
