about pandupol hanuman temple

Pandupol Hanuman Temple's significance stems from the fact that the temple was set up in the middle of the thick forest that surrounds it by a well-known devotee of Lord Hanuman's - Sant Nirbhaya Dassji Maharaj. It is an important temple because there is a bridge near the temple which is of historical importance. It is believed to be the bridge where the Pandavas spent their time in exile.

Two hills at one part of the bridge were obstructing the path ahead, when the Pandavas were travelling. This was cracked into two by the most powerful of the Pandava brothers - Bheem. The resulting spot was beautiful as it had the semblance of a natural waterfall or stream surrounded with rocks, which exists even today. Tuesdays and Saturdays are considered more sacred than the other days of the week for the worship of Lord Hanuman and hence people in large numbers turn up to offer prayers, especially on these two days.
