There’s plenty of places to visit in and around Ramgarh for the average traveller who wants to cool off in the hills. Ramgarh itself is a small village in two parts, Malla (upper) and Talla (lower) Ramgarh, with a road running all through and beyond into the hills, which buzz with picnic possibilities. Find your own sweet spot in the countryside near Nainital.

Ramgarh also has a fairly old Shiva Temple at the beginning of the town, where the road leads back to Bhowali where you can visit the famous Kainchi Dham. Though Rabindranath Tagore’s house is a hopeless ruin today, the spot is called Tagore Point. A 3-km trek out of town, Tagore Point lies at a height of 8,500 ft.

Not far from it, on a ridge called Devisthan in Umagarh Village, was the summer home of late poet Mahadevi Verma. This one is better preserved and now houses a museum. You could also visit the Nathuakhan Village, which lies on the road to Sitla. Nathuakhan is also orchard country. It commands a fabulous view of the Himalaya, with magical views of the lights of Almora by night. Another beautiful village Sitla is further along the road from Nathuakhan towards Mukteshwar, set on a good 40 acres of mostly orchard land. These are all good options for places to visit in and around Ramgarh.

One of the most peaceful places to visit in Uttarakhand, you should plan a trip to Ramgarh soon.
