St Marks Square is easily accessible by public mode of transportation. It is the major attraction in Venice and can be easily reached from different corners of the city. From airport it will take 1 hour to reach by a motor boat. If you are coming from Piazzale Roma by vaporetto no. 1 it will take about 40 minutes, no. 52 (direct), about 20 minutes, and no. 82 (direct), about 30 minutes. Vaporettos run at intervals of every 10-12 minutes. From Santa Lucia Railway Station By vaporetto no. 1 it will take you about 35 minutes, no. 52 about 25 minutes, and no. 82 about 25 minutes.

St. Mark’s Square is a public square in Venice that holds some of the most important religious and civil ceremonies in the city. It was constructed in the ninth century as a small square which use to be dotted with trees. It is the only square in the city that has been designated as ‘piazza,' rest are called ‘campi.' While taking a stroll around the square be little careful from the pigeons, as the bird population is equivalent to humans there. It is advisable to go to the square early in the morning or late afternoon as it is the major hub and is always flooding with tourists.
