Suggest a 3 day tour itinerary for Lonavala.

Lonavala is a beautiful hill station in Maharashtra. This popular place has many tourist spots that can charm anyone. Plan your trip with the following itinerary to make the best use of your trip to Lonavala. To know more about this place, you can go to our Lonavala travel guide page.

Day 1


Begin the day early and after breakfast at your hotel head off to the Rajmachi Village, which is at a distance of around 15 km from Lonavala. Even before you reach the destination, you will fall in love with the beautiful views of the surroundings and the roadsides as Lonavala is a hill station and is endowed with various floras and waterfalls and streams, if you happen to visit the place during monsoon season.

Before you reach Rajmachi, stop for a while at the Tungarli Dam. After reaching Rajmachi Village, you will see more waterfalls and green landscape. Have something to eat before you start trekking the Rajmachi trails. There are two forts, the Manoranjan fort and Shrivardhan fort, located at this place. Trekking to these two forts is surely going to take time. Explore the nearby trekking trails and enjoy the view of the surrounding areas from this elevated region. Try to have lunch at a nearby restaurant as it will be past lunch hour by the time you reach Lonavala. Start trekking again and visit the Kondana caves. The mysterious looking cave will keep you interested in it for quite some time.

On the way back spend some time at the Valvan Dam and the lake formed by this dam. Evening at this popular lake will work magic on all nature lovers. By the time you reached Lonavala, it will be already late. have dinner at one of the restaurants and since you spend the whole day trekking, give your body some rest and try to go to sleep a little bit early.

Day 2


Its always better to start early morning when on a trip as you will have more time to explore the place. Before you head out from your hotel after having breakfast, wear your most comfortable trekking shoes as you will be spending lots of time trekking the trails of Lonavala.

Travel a distance of around 10 km from Lonavala and you will reach the popular Duke’s Nose, a cliff which is famous with trekkers and hikers. Around Tiger’s Point, trek and explore for a while. If you are visiting Lonavala during monsoon season, you will have the opportunity to witness a small but beautiful waterfall with sparkling water that runs down to become a clear stream.

Trekking is sure to make you feel tired and hungry. Rejuvenate and refreshed your body with a meal at a restaurant on the way back. Stop for a while at Bushy dam and the lake formed by the dam and enjoy the serenity of the placid water.

A visit to Lonavala can never be complete without a trip to Karla Caves, a beautiful rock cut caves which is among the oldest examples of Early Buddhist temple art in India. The cave is fairly big and if you are interested in history and culture of Buddhism, you will feel like spending the whole day here.

It will already be late afternoon by the time you head back to your hotel.Change into your best dress and visit Volcano, a popular hangout zone for the young crowds of the place. Dance to the music of the DJ and party through the night.


Day 3


This is the last day of your trip so make sure you don’t miss out any sightseeing place. Know more about Lonavala Lake and spend a few hours by the its side. The cool breeze of early morning will make you fall in love with the place.

The scenic landscape of Lonavala is sure to mesmerise you. So, on your way to the lake, you might see waterfalls or streams of gurgling clear water. Just make sure whenever you witness any such sights, get down from your vehicle and experience it at that moment itself. It is best to hire a vehicle and go on your own so that you will have the freedom to trek wherever and whenever you feel like.

A few minutes drive from Pawna Lake will take you to another enchanting lake, Shivsagar Lake. Spend the afternoon by this lake and soak in the beauty of this place.

Go to the major shopping places of Lonavala, after you are back from your trip to Shivsagar Lake. With knick knacks, varieties of sweet delights, among others, you will love to shop here. One of the most popular places for shopping is the main Lonavala bazaar. Choose from the number of things sold there to end your trip on a happy, satisfied note. Head back to your place of stay and have a sumptuous meal before retiring for the night.
