If you are planning a budget trip to Mcleodganj, you may be in luck. With umpteen restaurants and lovely budget hotels, the Tibetan town is a pleasure to holiday in.

If you are travelling from Delhi, the fastest and cheapest way to reach is by bus. The bus journey takes upto 12 hours and costs close to INR 1000 depending on the type of bus you take. Once there, you could either scout around for hotels or simply settle in if you have made prior bookings. The latter definitely is a better option. Some lovely budget hotels are Annex and 8Auspicioushimview. You can also check places to stay in Mcleodganj for more information on hotels that suit your budget.

If you are here for three days, you have ample time to go trekking as well sightseeing with enough time to simply laze about. About 2 km from the main town is the base for an 8 hour trek to Triund. It would be best to start early incase you plan to come back the same day, which in this case would be a wise option. If you have more than three days, you can always stay in one of the camps set up by various adventure operators.

Besides Triund which is an adventure buff's delight, Mcleodganj has tons of places for relaxed sightseeing. Bhagshu, Dharamkot and Dal Lake are some of the places you can visit. For a comprehensive list, you can check the places to visit in Mcleodganj

Being a small town with a strong Tibetan culture, Mcleodganj is a travellers's haunt. An added advantage here is ofcourse the numerous cafes serving delicious Tibetan, Italian and European cuisine. With a cafe every ten steps, you have a vast variety to choose from. Some of the most popular cafes here are Four Seasons, Tibet Kitchen and Mcllo. Head here to dig into absolutely mouth watering food and you won't be disappointed. Easy on the pocket, the cafes here offer you an unforgettable gastronomic journey. Some not so popular but must visit cafes include Coffee Talk, Chocolate log and Mandala. You can also check the places to eat in Mcleodganj travel guide for more options.
