about surendrapuri

If you have ever wondered about the innumerable Hindu Gods and Goddesses, you should check out this  Surendrapuri Hyderabad. Located about 60 km away from Hyderabad city, not many tourist make it up to this place. But once you reach here, you'd realize how cool this place is. Also called the Mythological Awareness Centre, the museum was established to create knowledge about Hindu mythology.

The museum was actualized by Mr. Kundu Satyanarayana, who built it in the memory of his son. There are life-size replicas of most of the import Hindu temples with the sculptures and idols of the deities inside. The replicas are convincing enough to give you the feeling of being inside the real temple. According to their sizes, these replicas are either constructed outdoors or kept indoors. Apart from these impressive structures, you will find a number of paintings and sculptures depicting instances from Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bhagavad Gita etc. There are even life-sized artistic representations of the 'three worlds', heaven and hell. A visit to  Surendrapuri would be a fun way to teach your kids or learn yourself, the basic background of the Hindu Mythology. Truly devout people can have the satisfaction of having visited all the sacred temples at one place.
