What are the different modes of reaching Indore?

0 people found this answer useful Useful ?Yes

If you are planning a trip to the place our favourite Salman Khan did his schooling from, then don’t think too much about the logistics of how to reach there. You might ask why is that so! Well, that’s because there are so many ways of reaching the place. You simply have to choose the one you like and hop on for a treat, that is the city of Indore. Different ways of reaching the place are:

  • By Air

The Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport is located at a distance of 8 km from the city centre and is connected by daily flights to all the major cities in the country such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Gwalior, Delhi, Nagpur and Ahmedabad to name a few. The most popular airlines operating in Indore are Deccan, Jet Lite  Indian, Kingfisher and Jet Airways. Interestingly, the airport provides wi-fi connectivity to its passengers and is considered to be one of the most modern buildings in the state. The airport is well connected to the city centre through different means such as auto rickshaws, taxis and cabs. The pre-paid taxi booth at the airport comes to many peoples’ rescue who do not want to get into the quest of finding a mode of transportation on the road outside. If you are opting for the services outside the airport, you should make it a point to haggle over the fares because the quoted fares can sometimes be more than the actual ones.

  • By Train

The Indore Railway Station is situated in the main city center and is well-linked with all the major railheads in the country. The city is well connected with several of the cities in the country such as Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Howrah, Bhind, Jaipur, Agra, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Lucknow, Jammu, Dehradun and many more. The station is well connected to the city through auto rickshaws, cycle rickshaws and taxis. The rule of haggling over the fares stand true here too.

  • By Road

There are a number of private operators who run daily buses connecting it to locations like Bhopal, Gwalior, Mumbai and Jaipur. Some of the most commonly used bus services are Royal Travels, Hans and City Link Travels.

It is really not advised that you use the tragically dilapidated buses run by state transport to reach the city because of their untimely operation and also of their physical condition.

If you want to reach the city through your own vehicle, then you can take the national highway NH 3 (Bombay-Agra Road) and NH 59 (Indore-Ahmedabad Road) that pass through Indore and are in good shape.

Just reach the city through any means and leave the rest to the welcoming Indore. The trip is going to be an amazing one, that’s like a line on a stone. If you still don’t believe me, check it out for yourself! The city won’t disappoint you.
