The charming city called Guwahati is situated in the heart of the North Eastern region of India. There is an International Airport in the city and a major broad gauge railway station to make communication absolutely feasible from any part of the country. Let’s discuss how to reach Guwahati:

  • By Air
Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport of Guwahati, located in Borjhar is well connected to major Indian cities like Delhi and Kolkata. Flights also operate from Agartala, Dibrugarh, Dimapur, Imphal and Silchar to Guwahati. Taxis and coaches take you to the city, which is 25 km away. International travellers can connect to Guwahati through Kolkata and Delhi.
  • By Train
Several trains connecting Guwahati to the rest of India are available. The Rajdhani Express, The Northeast Express and Brahmaputra Mail ply from New Delhi. Kamrup Express and Saraighat Express from Kolkata. Again there is the Dadar Express from Mumbai; Bangalore Express from Bangalore, taking 61 hours to reach. Trivandrum Express from Trivandrum takes 72 hours. All these trains run at least twice a week from the destination to Guwahati.
  • By Road
Guwahati is a significant point for road transport in entire North East India. There are four major national highways that meet here. The city is very well connected by roadways to Aizawl (Mizoram), Bomdila (Arunachal Pradesh), Agartala (Tripura), Cooch Behar (West Bengal), Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh), Imphal (Manipur), Kohima (Nagaland),Dimapur (Nagaland), Shillong and Tura (Meghalaya) and Dibrugarh, Tinsukia Digboi, Silchar, Sibsagar and Tezpur (Assam). Comfy tourist Volvo buses from the ISBT in Khanapara can be boarded to take a journey to any of these places.

So, make your favourite pick and book your tickets before someone else lays their hands on them.
