Let's accept the fact, we all love beaches. The smell of the salty water, the wind in your face, the gentle roar of the waves all combine to create a sense of peace and calm. Diu has some very quite and relaxing pristine beaches where you can stroll leisurely among gently swaying coconut trees, leaving behind all your worries and many beaches where you can indulge yourself in thrilling water sports and adventures. some of the most popular beaches of Diu are:


  • The Nagoa beach

    Nagoa beach is the most popular beach in Diu. Shaped like a horseshoe, in a semi circular, this beach is at a 25 minutes drive from Diu in the Nagoa hamlet of the Bucharwada village. Hoka trees line the beach and various water sports like para-sailing, water-skiing, jet skiing, wind surfing etc are available for the tourists. Enjoy swimming in clear crystal blue water.


  • The Ghoghla Beach

    As far as your eyes can see, the golden hued beaches contrasting the sparkling blue of Arabian ocean is a sheer delight to the visual senses. The vast open clear blue sea is therapeutic to the nerves and your senses. Lay on the beach reading your favourite book, sip on fresh coconut water and let the warm sun caress your body gently. However if you want the adrenaline pumping then there are many options for water sport on the Ghongla beach like swimming, parasailing and surfing.

    Do not forget to take sunscreen, unless you want an exotic shade of tan!

  • The Chakratirth Beach

    Located in the south west of Diu, it is a most sought after beach due to the availability of the changing rooms. The vast open space line by gently swaying palm trees will sing lullaby to you as you take a leisurely stroll on the Chakratirth beach as the fine grains of sand produce a tingling sensation in your feet. If you choose to there are various watersports available too which you can indulge in to get the adrenalin kick.


  • The Jalandhar Beach

    The Jalandhar beach is famous for the Jalandhar shrine on a small hillock and the temple of Goddesses Chandrika. So if you wish to have the Darshan of the deities along with the pleasure of the beach, then this is the ideal place for you to visit.


The other famous beaches of Diu are Gomati Mata Beach and the Sunset point.
Your memories of the ocean will linger on even if your footprints on the sands are gone. Aptly said you can never grow old enough to fall out of the love of beaches.
