The cultural dynamics of Pushkar just cannot be missed. Here is the place that boasts of the only temple dedicated to Lord Brahma not just in India but the world. Let us have a look at what all adds to the festivities in this holy town.

  • Pushkar Fair

Nothing beats the enormity of Pushkar Fair in this religious town. Lakhs of devotees and rural folks descend on this small town to take a dip in the holy Sarovar Lake and trade in lifestock and camels and cattle during this festival, which happens in the month of November. Tourists are seen participating in the celebrations enthusiastically and in great number.
During the five days when the festival goes on, the town is totally immersed in colourful folk dances, music, horse and camel races, magic shows and much more.

  • Tejaji Fair

The fair is celebrated in honour of Veer Tejaji, who is a folk-diety and worshipped all across Rajasthan. The festival is organized at several places across Rajasthan. Nearest to Pushkar happens to be Alwar, where it is organized on the tenth day of Bhadra season (that is August-September).
The festival is celebrated with much fanfare and involves plenty of native Rajasthani customs like music, dance, local craft and food.

No wonder Pushkar is a colourful town. With all the fairs and Rajasthani folk-culture imparting their tinge to Pushkar, you are sure to be mesmerised.
