Just like every holiday destination has its own set of fun and surprises, Ramnagar too has a list of things that you mustn’t miss out on. So, hop on to a safari tour, catch some Masheer in the Ramganga River and head out for a nature walk to breathe in some fresh air and have a silent conversation with Mother Nature. When in Ramnagar, don’t miss out on the following:

  • Jeep Safaris

Climb on to an open jeep and stand throughout your tour (Fine! Sitting breaks allowed but for not more than two minutes). As the jeep swirls around sharp curves, the wind races along its speed. Once you snap out of the kick you get from this chase, look around to spot some deers, click a few monkeys and call back to the birds. The guide will through in tips and facts about the unique trees and pretty flora. And of course some scary tiger tales too. It’s a joyride through the wild wild nest of the tigers!

A trip from Ramnagar to Corbett would cost about INR 3500 for a jeep. Note that only 6 people including the driver and the guide are allowed at one time.

  • Nature Walks

If there is one thing that you must not miss in Ramnagar, it is the lovely nature walks. The lush green surroundings and the calm temperatures make the meandering paths guided by tall trees the perfect route for a walk. With a few tips from the hotel staff, you could head out alone or get a guide to come along and educate you a bit on the forest around. Morning hours or after lunch hours are the most suited for a refreshing walk. Avoid walking around once the sun sets (of course your are brave but so are the other animals out there!)

A guide will charge you about INR 200 for the whole day.

  • Fishing and angling

Try your hand at fishing! Well what else can you do when the Masheer and catfish in the rivers Kosi and Ramganga tempt you for a catch and catch game. There are several river tours and expert guides will get you to the perfect spot for fishing. The catch and release policy that they follow ensures that they are enough fish in the river. Between mid November and mid June you can indulge in a fish catching competition, as the whole world seems to be fishing here then. Get your own gear and equipments, book a tour and get ready to flaunt that rod and let the world know whose fishing in there!

That’s all folks! Fishing, safaris, nature walks, for two to three full days and you’ll wish your holiday could last a little more!
