The Bannerghatta National Park is open throughout the week except for Tuesdays. The timings for the park are from 9 AM to 5 PM. Located at a distance of 22 km from Bangalore city, the national park offers a diverse range of wild animals, birds and reptiles placed in different units such as zoo, safari park, pet corner, butterfly park, snake house, aquarium and Rescue Center (Conservation of captive animals) all in its premises itself. Spread across an area of 25,000 acre, it is a popular tourist destination among people of all age groups as it also imparts educational information along with some wildlife entertainment. The region experiences tropical climate throughout the year, thus the best time to visit is between September to January.

Bannerghatta National Park was founded in 1971 and was declared as a national park in 1974. You can feast your eyes on a wide array of wild animals such as Leopards, Lions, Zebras, Bengal Tigers, White Tiger, Panthers, Porcupines, Crocodiles, Rhinoceroses, Elephants, Spotted Deer, Ostrich, Bison, Panthers, and Bears. To avoid the interference the park has further been further divided into sections for herbivores and carnivores.
