Dalhousie is a treat not just for historians but also for visitors in general. That is to say, Dalhousie has an amazing museum beautifying it, and you should definitely visit it while in Dalhousie. Here are the few prominent details on it-

  • Bhuri Singh Museum

This museum was officially started in 1908, named after a contemporary king Raja Bhuri, who contributed several of his ancestral paintings to the museum.
    The medieval history of
Himachal Pradesh is beautifully inscribed in the Sarda scripts exhibited in this museum. The Guler-Kangra style paintings have been contributed by the Chamba rulers, who are known to have been great patrons of art.
Basohli style paintings illustrating the Bhagwat Purana and Ramayana are the artefacts that cannot be ignored, along with the armours tokens, hill jewellery, coins, ornaments. Also do check out the brilliantly embroidered Chamba Rumals in the museum.
    Situated close to
Chaugan town of Chamba, the museum remains closed on gazetted holidays and Mondays. On all other days, the museum remains open from 10am to 5pm throughout the year.

We are confident that a visit will be very enriching and a fun experience. Besides, don't miss out on the ancient artefacts.
