Well, here’s a downer for all your foodies. Bharatpur doesn’t exactly offer a lot of choices when it comes to eating out. Your best bet is to eat in the restaurant of your own hotel or check around the eating sections of other nearby hotels in Bharatpur. Since Bharatpur is quite a small destination with limited tourist attractions, most visitors spend a night here and move on the next day. Below are a few listings that you might find helpful:

  • Ravia Multicuisine Restaurant
The USP of this restaurant is in its choice of either the poolside or the rooftop seating arrangement. Apart from the great ambiance, the food is quite good here, available at surprisingly affordable prices. Do try the Tandoori dishes here or go for the Rajasthani Thalis.

    Address: Swaraj Resorts
    NH-11 (Opposite Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary)
    Telephone: +91-92510-33673
    Official Website: http://www.theswaraj.com/

  • Laxmi Vilas Palace Restaurant
The food and service here is pretty good (a little pricy though). Go for the buffet lunch and do not miss the Mango souffle. They have a decent variety in Continental fares like soups and sandwiches.

    Address: Laxmi Vilas Palace Restaurant
    Kakaji Ki Kothi

  • Udai Vilas Palace Restaurant
This place offers decent Indian, Chinese and Continental cuisines. Try out the Paneer Tikka or the Afghani Chicken here. The rates can be a bit high, but you wouldn’t have any cause for complaint as far as the food per se is concerned.

    Address: NH-11 Fatehpur Sikri Road

Apart from these, you will surely find small local restaurants around the Bharatpur sanctuary, Lohagarh Fort and other tourist attractions, which offer local north Indian dishes at very reasonable rates. There are street vendors present at almost every street corner. All in all, this is not the place for a gourmet meal and restaurants with great ambience, but the local flavours are guaranteed to satisfy your taste buds so that you will find yourself reaching out for second helpings.
